The Cardiology Access Line, CAL, provides direct access to physicians referring to the Johns Hopkins cardiology division for outpatient services. When you call CAL to schedule an evaluation or procedure, you will speak with an “expediter” who can field your request directly, ensure that your request is handled efficiently and coordinate all aspects of care. By coordinating the entire process, we can improve the experience you and your patients have with the Johns Hopkins system…and better communicate with you in a timely fashion. | Using CAL, you have access to outpatient cardiology services at any of our sites (The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, along with Johns Hopkins at Green Spring Station, Timonium, White Marsh, Howard County and Odenton). CAL is staffed by Johns Hopkins professionals who are ready to help you with your patient care needs. Managing initial referrals and following up on patient progress can all be done by simply dialing 410-502-0550, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. | Our CAL expeditors have immediate access to Hopkins physicians’ and procedure schedules, at any of our locations, to reach the requested physician or schedule an outpatient appointment promptly. If your requested physician appointment is unavailable when you need it, our expeditor can direct you to an available alternative specialist or appointment time. We are experienced in matching your needs to the Johns Hopkins heart specialist most qualified to treat your patient’s condition(s). CAL also will facilitate follow-up communication between you and your Hopkins cardiologist because we know how important it is that you remain involved in all patient care decisions. While HAL provides 24/7 direct access to Johns Hopkins cardiology faculty for patient hospital transfers or urgent questions, CAL provides expedited access for outpatient services when direct physician to physician contact is not necessary. Every year, HAL assists thousands of physicians in referring their patients to The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Whatever the need, HAL will refer you to the best qualified Hopkins physician for your patient’s condition(s).
